Music for funerals, wakes and memorials

funerals

“Thank you for such a wonderful performance at the wake held for my father–in-law. What could have been a very sombre occasion was, in fact, a lovely celebration of his life. Your music helped break the ice and enabled people to chat and be themselves - exactly how Dave would have wanted it.” - Adam E

"Where words fail, music speaks" - Hans Christian Anderson

Music and memories are intextricably linked so it's no surprise that we often turn to music for comfort and support in times of sadness. Celebrating the life of a loved one through the songs they held dear is a particularly special form of remembrance.

For the funeral itself I will sing up to three songs of your choice. My speciality is jazz, but years spent also singing choral works and in musical theatre have given me, I believe, a versatility which allows me to turn my hand to most styles. Previously I’ve sung “My Way”, “Bring Me Sunshine”, “You Raise Me Up” and “Angels” amongst others, but I will happily learn and sing anything you wish.

I have over 140 classic jazz songs in my regular repertoire and it’s these beautiful songs that I perform at the wake or gathering afterwards. The right choices - yours if you would like to or mine if you prefer - will create a mood that is either quiet and reflective or uplifting and celebratory as you see fit.

At the funeral I'll use a portable, battery powered amplifier with a wireless microphone that takes moments to get set up. For the gathering or wake afterwards I use my regular PA which will be set up well in advance of your arrival.

To discuss your requirements you can reach me using the contact form or via one of the methods below. I’m available seven days a week and handle each bookingsmyself, guaranteeing you a personal service. If you would prefer me to deal with your funeral director instead then please pass my contact details to them and I can liaise with them direct.
